The Octopus Trusted Partner scheme is a programme run by Octopus Energy that links customers with approved local installers of low-carbon technology (like heat pumps, solar panels, batteries, and EV chargers).

How it works

  • If a customer asks Octopus about things like heat pumps or solar, but Octopus can’t handle that installation (e.g. wrong location or complex job), they refer the customer to a Trusted Partner.

  • These partners are independent companies, but:

    • They’ve been checked and approved by Octopus

    • They must meet strict standards for quality, qualifications, and customer service

  • The installer then handles the job directly (quotes, installation, payment, etc.).

What makes a “Trusted Partner”

To be accepted, installers typically need:

  • Proper technical accreditations (e.g. MCS, industry certifications)

  • Good customer reviews and service standards

  • Proof of compliance and insurance

Octopus treats them as an extension of its own brand, so they’re monitored to maintain those standards.

Benefits For customers

  • Access to reliable, vetted installers

  • Easier way to get renewable energy tech installed

  • Often bonuses or bill credits if switching to Octopus tariffs

Why it exists

Octopus launched the scheme to scale up green energy adoption in the UK—especially because demand for things like heat pumps and solar is growing faster than they can handle alone.
